====== HVAC:  heating, ventilation and air conditioning ======

Many vandwellers are [[camping:snowbirding|snowbirds]], following mild weather. One major reason for this is heating and [[hvac:solar_ac|air conditioning]] with electricity from solar power is generally impractical. 

[[hvac:heating|Heating]] is relatively easy with propane or diesel heaters. 

[[hvac:ventilation|Ventilation]] is also easy with with [[hvac:roof_vent|roof vents]], like the Fantastic or Maxxfan.  In areas of very low humidity like deserts, [[hvac:swamp_cooler|swamp coolers]] can be effective spot coolers. Use of awnings or [[hvac:shade:shadecloth|shadecloth]] can help keep sun off the van's interior and occupants.
