In some ways 'dwellers are better equipped than housedwellers to deal with emergencies.

• we can leave troubled areas
• we can outrun bad weather
• we carry our own food and water
• we make our own power
• we are used to carrying around all our possessions
• we are used to “roughing it” in campervan conditions at least

The most extreme form of emergency avoidance is boondocking in unaffected areas.

• purifying water for drinking
• cooking from scratch
• using catholes or other emergency toilets
• using shelf-stable foods or sprouting fresh food
