+Sometimes we get batteries for free or cheap.  Sometimes we damage the batteries we already own.  While fresh and healthy batteries are best, they are relatively $$$.  Here are some thoughts on getting value out of compromised batteries:
   * raise the Vabs setpoint to the max allowed by the battery manufacturer
