In some ways 'dwellers are better equipped than housedwellers to deal with emergencies.  

  * we can leave troubled areas
  * we can outrun bad weather
  * we carry our own food and water
  * we make our own power
  * we are used to carrying around all our possessions
  * we are used to "roughing it" in campervan conditions at least

The most extreme form of emergency avoidance is [[camping:dispersed|boondocking]] in unaffected areas.
