Normal residential pottery or ceramic plates are impractical for 'dwellers because of their weight and fragility

  * disposable plates - no [[food:cooking#cleaning|clean-up]], but generates waste and costs more.
      * paper - takes less space, can be burned in campfire
      * foam - bulky, must be thrown away
  * reusable plates

      * [[https://amzn.to/2x3LeCF|metal camping plates]] - generally stainless steel.  Can be submerged in boiling water or warmed directly on heat source.  May be rattly when traveling.
  * no plates - eating directly out of the [[food:cooking:cookware|cookpot]]
