Gray water

Gray water is water that has been used for some non-sewage purpose. Examples:

	* shower or sponge bath water
	* dishwashing water

particulates

<http://amzn.to/2pOD4JD>
Using a fine-mesh sink strainer or similar to remove food particulates reduces the likelihood of unpleasant smell. Straining is particularly important if stealth draining (see below) to avoid unsightliness, reduce visible evidence, and avoid attracting flies and bears.

Showers

navy showers

Navy showers are short, methodical showers intended to use minimal water. 1-2 gallons of water per shower are possible.

The general process is:

	* wet the surface to be washed
	* lather/scrub as needed
	* rinse

Practice this procedure in your home shower before hitting the road.

A water spraybottle has many uses for 'dwellers, and also tends to use much less water than other approaches:

	* hygiene
 * wet and rinse toothbrushes
 * pre-wet hands before cleaning
 * re-moisten dry wipes

	* cooking
 * wet unruly coffee filters to help hold them in place
