The most commonly mentioned items for a build are a cordless drill and saw of some kind. Akrvbob recommends an 18v Ryobi kit for value.²⁾

Corded tools can be used with an inverter. A PSW version may help keep motor temperatures down and help with picky battery chargers.

Circular saws, sometimes called Skilsaws, are used for cutting lumber. Jigsaws are used for finer work. When using a jigsaw gsfish reminds us to tape the bottom so we do not scratch the camper's finish.³⁾

The owner should:

1. read the owner's manual to understand the maintenance schedule and what the dash lights mean
2. have the ability to change a tire (or pay for a service)
3. have the ability to check/add oil, wiper, coolant, and tire air levels (including the spare)

The owner may want to pack:

• filters: air, fuel
• belts: serpentine or all belts as needed
• fluids: trans fluid, brake fluid, motor oil
• hoses: radiator upper and lower hoses
• electric: bulbs, fuses

As you climb all over the camper during the build take note of all the fasteners you see: screws, bolts, allen head, square head, torx, etc.⁴⁾

Not only can your air up a tire or inflate other items, but having a compressor lets you lower your tire air pressure to increase traction and get you out of sand or mud.
